All of CATS' programs utilize evidence based practices. Evidence
based practices are interventions and techniques that research data
suggests are associated with positive outcomes. These include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Social Learning, and
Motivational Interviewing.

- If you have Medicaid you may quality for Outpatient Services.
- If you are involved with the criminal justice system: You may quality for
Outpatient Services or Residential Treatment.
- If you are a male with a drug and/or alcohol problem, live in Cuyahoga
County and have no medical insurance or means to pay for treatment,
you may qualify for the Challenge To Change Outpatient Program.

CATS experiences great success with the criminal justice population through the use of best practices and positive treatment.
CATS offers men and women the help, tools, and support they need to recover from and eliminate the negative behaviors associated with alcohol/drug abuse and criminal activity.

An in depth interview designed to assess an individual’s
needs. The assessment concludes with a diagnosis and
recommendations for treatment.
CATS offers two type of assessments:
1. For alcohol and drug use
2. Recidivism (criminal behavior)
The majority of CATS’ services are delivered in the group
format in which a professional, licensed counselor
facilitates group therapy.
All clients receive individual counseling to develop and
implement an individualized treatment plan.
Referrals to community resources and assistance in
accessing them.
Services are delivered on an outpatient basis. Clients
stay in their own homes and come to CATS for treatment
of their alcohol and drug problems.and to reduce
recidivism(crime behavior).
Non-Intensive: 1 to 3 days a week
Intensive: 4 days a week
Clients temporarily live at CATS while receiving treatment
for alcohol and drug problems and to reduce
recidivism(crime behavior).
Utilizing the Therapeutic Community model, CATS Plus
is a residential program for men that stresses behavior
modification, abstinence, and community reintegration.
Individuals may address barriers to successful
reintegration into the community such as housing,
treatment, health care, employment, education and other
issues. Men leaving residential treatment for drug and
alcohol issues as well as men referred by the judicial
system are served by the program.
This program provides day treatment to females
incarcerated at the Northeast Pre-Release Center who
are approaching release.
