History

In 1990, the Community Assessment
Foundation opened its doors in
Cleveland, Ohio to provide chemical
dependency and mental health
services, rehabilitation, and
empowerment  to private individuals
as well as to individuals referred from
the justice system who were
suffering with substance abuse
and/or mental health problems.
The Community Assessment
Foundation originally provided
services in affiliation with
St. Michael’s Hospital, located in Cleveland’s Broadway-Fleet neighborhood.

In 1994, the Community Assessment Foundation became a full-fledged non-profit,
human services organization as Community Assessment and Treatment Services, Inc.

In 2002, with St. Michael's Hospital closing, CATS moved
